On Friday, November 22, Bell 7th graders participated in a celebratory reading event in the library as the culmination of the realistic fiction unit they engaged in and completed in their English classes during the month of October.
The Roaring Brook Fall Art Challenge, inspired by The Hidden Gem by Linda Liu, invited artists to create a "hidden gem" that reflects their unique personality. This fall, 58 entries were submitted. This week, Ms. McNealy celebrated all the entries, highlighting 14 Above Excellence Art Awards. These will be featured on iRBS News and during Morning Announcements after Thanksgiving break. Congrats to all artists!
On November 23, 2024, Horace Greeley High School hosted the New York Metro Regionals for the National History, Geography, and Science Bees, where Roaring Brook students shone brightly.
Congratulations to our fourth graders:
- Rohan Narayanan placed 1st in Science and 3rd in History, qualifying for the National and International competitions.
- Sia Mathur took 3rd in Geography, also advancing to the National and International competitions.
- Ellie Lam reached the final round of Geography, earning a spot at the National Bee.
- Mark Song, in his first competition, performed admirably after just a few weeks of preparation.
Third grader Rian Faraz finished 3rd in Science, securing his qualification for the National and International competitions.
Principal Wilson and Assistant Principal Buffa are incredibly proud of these students' achievements and determination. Congratulations to all!
Using skills learned from their properties of matter curriculum, 7B students are working to determine the culprit behind the sticky situation.
Inspired by puppeteer Tony Sarg, students imagined they had been hired by Macy's to design a brand-new balloon.
