Global Learning Center & Makerspace

Elementary GLC

Our Global Learning Center (GLC) transforms traditional school libraries into an innovative 21st-century learning center, complementing traditional print materials with a range of digital resources and new technologies.

With space for whole classes, flexible seating, presentations, collaboration, and breakout rooms, the GLC is a hub for learning, technology, and literacy in our schools.

in the GLC, students explore units of study focused on digital citizenship, research databases, sustainability, coding, and more. Our Library teachers and classroom teachers collaborate both in the GLC and classrooms to support students.

Our Makerspace

ES Makerspace

We believe that students need to develop ways of thinking about the complex challenges that we face and design solutions to those challenges to make the world a better place.

Makerspaces combine hi-tech and low-tech equipment with the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM). Through the CCSD Design Thinking Process, students develop 21st-century skills like collaboration, creativity, computational thinking, and digital citizenship through coding, robotics, digital design, and more.

Students explore common Makerspace activities across grade levels each semester.
